Meet Ruth
I am based in West Sussex after living and working in London where I ran community choirs and singing groups for the Southbank Centre, Baseless Fabric Theatre, Little Village family support charity and Homestart. Working with a variety of people from different backgrounds, with different needs, abilities and experiences, I experienced first-hand the power of singing together as a group to feel better, more connected to others and more confident. I am now on a mission to bring the health and wellbeing benefits of singing to everyone. I am also passionate about developing the knowledge and research-base around this work and spreading information about the health benefits of moving, singing and sounding together to health professionals. We feel better after doing it because it genuinely is good for our hearts, lungs and brains - none of which can be separated from our community health.
